Delightful adaptations of Frozen and Disney’s Descendants will open in Shreveport this May

The Broadway musical opens with children as the lead roles

SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - The Stage Center’s School of Performing Arts presents Disney’s Frozen (Kids Edition) for three shows on May 13 and May 14, 2022. Watch all of your favorite character from the hit film embark on the epic journey of love, family, friendship and self discovery. Hear your favorite songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production.

Catch the action and adventures at the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse at Centenary College (2700 Woodlawn Avenue).

Showtimes are Friday, May 13 at 6:00pm and on Saturday, May 14 at 2:00pm and 6:00pm. The cast consists of 31 members from Kindergarten through 7th grade. Choreography is done by Kaitlyn Bundrick-Brown. Disney’s Frozen (Kids Edition) is under the direction of Stage Center’s School of Performing Arts Director of Education Liesl Cruz.

A few days later starting on May 19, 2022, Stage Center and the School of Performing Arts brings another popular franchise to the stage. Disney’s Descendants The Musical runs for four days with five performances. See how four children of famous villains handle life at a heroes school. See some of your favorite characters and hear some of the popular tunes from the Descendants series.

Stage Center Artistic Director Jared Watson helms the production, with choreography by Katie Lerchie, musical direction by Seth Taylor, and production stage management by Candy Huggins. This play features a cast of forty!

Showtimes are Thursday and Friday (May 19 & 20) at 7:00pm. Two shows on Saturday, May 21 (2:00pm & 7:00pm) and a matinee show on Sunday at 2:00pm at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse at Centenary College.
